2.0      PURPOSE

2.1   The Council shall be established by the Education Authority through Board Resolution with the responsibility to oversee the management and administration of the School.

2.2   To foster and support spirit, founded upon the aspirations and participation of the community through the development and integration of local Cree lifestyle, history, traditions, values, language and culture.

2.3   To promote Excellence in Education as being achieved through;

(a)    the promotion of high standards of achievement;

(b)   the provision of the basic skills acquired for active, compassionate participation  in family, community, province, nation, and in a global society;

(c)    the cultivation of a love for learning, respect for the environment;

(d)    a recognition of the values of diversity among learners and communities;

(e)   a willingness to explore creative educational alternatives.

3.0      MEMBERSHIP

3.1   Any member of the Authority who is of voting age or older may upon application be granted membership upon approval of the Education Authority having met the following criteria;

(a)   submitted a detail resume to the Education Authority,

(b)   covering letter noting interest and importance of education,

(c)   outlined experience with educational matters or organizations,

(d)   request for screening process and/or criteria for membership on the Composite School Council.
